JOYAS DE CACHO DE BUEY
El cuerno de buey ha sido utilizado en la elaboración de objetos desde tiempos muy remotos. Los Picunches, indios de la zona central de Chile, lo utilizaron para improvisar herramientas de uso doméstico según restos arqueológicos hallados. Así, este producto, que es tomado de las astas de bueyes, ha ido formando parte de la cultura y estética del campo chileno, representado principalmente por los tradicionales “Cachos de Chichas”, con los que se ha acostumbra beber chicha de uva en las fiestas populares.
Claudia Betancourt ha retomado la tradición familiar innovando con usos excepcionalmente originales, aventurándose a presentar collares, aros y anillos de colores y texturas únicos. Sus colores resultan elegantes y suaves, los que combinados con plata y otros metales hacen de sus joyas un producto de gran calidez y calidad.

OX HORN JEWELERY
Ox horn objects have been fashioned for many thousands of years. Archeological finds point to the Picunche Indians from the central zone having used it to form “household” tools. Taken from oxen, so much a part of the culture and aesthetics of the Chilean countryside, the product is epitomized in traditional "Cachos de Chichas", used for drinking fermented grape juice (chicha) at public festivals.
Claudia Betancourt has continued the family tradition, but innovating with exceptionally original uses, crafting necklaces, bands and rings in daring colors and textures. She found the colors to be elegant and smooth, and that combined with silver or other metals give her jewels great warmth and a special quality.
